AGM 2026 MoM | IIMCAA Adopts Constitutional Amendments to Change Membership Clauses and Rules

The Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) was held on 05th September 2026 at the IIMC Headquarters, New Delhi.
The meeting was chaired by Executive President Ms. Gayatri Srivastava and was attended by Executive President Mr. Prabhash Jha, Vice Presidents Mr. Gaurav Dikshit, Mr. Animesh Biswas, Ms. Sneha Bhattacharjee and Mr. Prabhat Upadhyay, Organisation Secretary Mr. Harshendra Singh Verdhan, Secretaries Mr. Dadan Vishwakarma, Mr. Ijaj Khan and Ms. Khushi Sharma, Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena, Central Committee Members Ms. Priyanka Singh, Mr. Prabhat Kumar, Mr. Satyakam Abhishek, Mr. Anand Saurabh, Mr. Kaushal Vishwakarma, Ms. Sugam Singhal, Mr. Shreesh Chandra Singh, Mr. Komal Badodekar, Mr. Shankar Pandit, Ms. Tanima Ray and Mr. Rupesh Kumar.

The IIMCAA President Mr. Sushil Singh addressed the general body meeting virtually from Aizawl.
Minutes of the Annual General Body Meeting
1. Activity Reports – The Secretary Mr. Dadan Vishwakarma presented the report of activities of the association. AGM lauded the efforts of the Team IIMCAA in organising meetings, Connections meets and other activities apart from supporting the IIMCAA Care Fund.
2. Financial Reports – The Treasurer Ms. Deeksha Saksena presented the audited report of accounts and balance sheet for the FY 2025-26. The AGM approved the financial reports and balance sheet unanimously. This shall be uploaded on the website of IIMCAA apart from printing it in the annual souvenir books as usual.
3. Constitutional Amendments
A. Inserting Calendar Year Word in the Constitution for holding AGMs
The AGM approved the proposal to insert the word Calendar Year for holding AGMs in the constitution unanimously. Ideally, Annual General Body Meetings shall be hosted in the month of September-October every year.
B. Constitutional Amendments with respect to Membership Clauses
The AGM approved various proposals unanimously to make Membership a central point and basis for meetings, activities and initiatives of IIMCAA. Appropriate changes shall be made in the constitution to reflect the following decisions:-
I. Lifetime Membership/Annual Membership/Renewal of Annual Membership shall be mandatory for alumni to get included or retained in the General Body/Membership List/Voters List. Annual Membership duration shall start on the date of registration/renewal and end on the same date the following year.
II. Alumni shall enroll as a Lifetime Member all through the year at a Lifetime Membership Fee of INR 20,000 plus taxes.
III. Alumni shall enroll/renew as an annual member from 1st November to 31st January next year for Annual Membership Fee of INR 1,000 plus taxes.
IV. Alumni shall enroll as an annual member from 1st February to 31st October same year for Annual Membership Fee of INR 1,500 plus taxes.
V. IIMC Students shall enroll as an annual member after passing final exams until 31st January next year for Annual Membership Fee of INR 1,000 plus taxes.
VI. The waiting period for membership benefits for a new member shall be 30 days from the date of registration, except for Connections Meets.
VII. The grace period for membership benefits for a past member shall be 30 Days from the date of renewal, except for Connections Meets.
VIII. Alumni shall be considered a non-member for all purposes if not a lifetime/annual member as defined above.
IX. General Body/Membership List/Voter List shall be updated based on registration and renewals at regular intervals.
X. All other Membership clauses in the constitution remain unchanged, if not impacted by resolutions above.
The approved amendments to the constitution, as adopted in the AGM, shall be incorporated, and an updated copy of the constitution shall be submitted to the Registrar of the Society, South East District, New Delhi. It shall be uploaded on the website of IIMCAA and circulated among members as well.
4. Co-opting IIMCAA Care Fund and 50% Membership Fees to Care Fund
The AGM adopted a proposal unanimously to donate half the Membership Fees (50%) it receives to IIMCAA Care Fund, with a minimum annual commitment of INR 2,00,000 (Two Lakh Rupees) only. IIMCAA Care Fund, an independent trust established to help alumni in medical needs, was co-opted to further the aims and objectives of IIMCAA at the AGM in 2025. Such donations shall be transferred to the IIMCAA Care Fund on a monthly/quarterly/half yearly/yearly or an emergency basis.
5. IIMCAA Awards Timelines change and Categories withdrawn
The AGM was apprised of the timeline changes and other developments with respect to IIMCAA Awards.
Entries shall open on 1st December 2026 and close on 20th December 2026 for IIMCAA Awards 2027. Applicants should submit news/campaigns done between 1st January 2026 and 30th November 2026 for the IIMCAA Awards 2027.
The categories for PR, Ad and Digital Agencies stand withdrawn.
6. Any issue that is raised for discussion by members present at the AGM
The Organisation Secretary Mr. Harshendra Singh Verdhan proposed to support the Chapters/Sub-Chapters financially to accelerate activities.
The AGM discussed the support models and unanimously approved to extend financial assistance to the Chapters/Sub-Chapters in hosting quarterly meetings/activities. A Chapter/Sub-Chapter shall get INR 250 per person (member present in meeting/activity) and maximum up to INR 5000 for a quarterly meeting or activity against the bills.
A process for claiming reimbursements for organising such quarterly meetings/activities shall be made and intimated to the concerned office bearers separately.
